You’re not thinking fourth dimensionally is a work that arose from an interest in the relationship between time travel and the supernatural, and the way in which a ghost is a kind of time traveller – stuck in an inescapable loop. The work utilises the locomotive as a historical symbol of human progress, and interrogates the notion of progress by creating a narrative that only moves forward through a repetition of the past. The ‘ghosting’ of the locomotive employs the effect called Pepper’s Ghost where the physical object is reflected into the visual space through the use of reflective glass combined with specific lighting and scene.
